Formula Five® Mold Release Wax
Formula Five® Mold Release Wax is a silicone-based paste wax mold release agent that blends carnauba – nature’s most durable protection – with modern polymers and special hydrocarbon waxes. Formula Five Mold Release Wax is specifically developed for the Reinforced Plastic Manufacturer. Formula Five Mold Release Wax is part of a simplified multi-cycle method of releasing parts from gel-coated surfaces. Provides easy application and positive multiple releases in even the most demanding situations. Formula Five® Mold Release Wax is has the lowest silicone content in the industry. Silicone or wax transfer to finished parts can be avoided by applying PVA such as Partall Coverall Film over the last coat of wax. Available in 12 oz. net wt. premium seamless metal cans, 12 to a case.
Formula Five® Clean 'N Glaze
Formula Five® Clean 'N Glaze mold buffing compound gently polishes away build-up, fine scratch marks, and surface hazing from fiber glass molds and plugs while leaving behind a durable hi-luster foundation for the releasing wax. Use of a power buffer is recommended for this application. This two in one operation, cleaner and glaze, contributes to maximum productivity and flawless parts each cycle. Formula Five Clean 'N Glaze is not a cutting compound – safe for use with all production molds and plugs. Formula Five Clean 'N Glaze is an effective cleaner for gel-coat surfaces, shiny metals and rubber boat rub strips; will remove chalking (oxidation) from gel coated surfaces including boats, tubs and cultured marble, and restore shine. Better, long-lasting shine with less work. Simple, effective, economical. Formula Five Clean 'N Glaze is used widely for cleaning of fiberglass buckets and booms on hydro electric service vehicles. Formula Five® semi-permanent mold release system
REXCO Introduces New PRODUCT LINE:

Semi-Permanent Mold Release System

Formula Five
®

FORMULA FIVE® Semi-permanent Mold Release System (paintable) is a proprietary blend of cross-linking polymers in a solvent carrier that bond to the mold surface protecting the mold, preserving fine detail and allowing easy release of parts without transfer. Suitable for all types of polyester, vinylester, epoxy, phenolic resins and many rubbers. May be used on most mold or plug substrates including composites (FRP/GRP ), glass, metal, and rubber. Resistant to high molding temperatures.

FORMULA FIVE® Semi-permanent Mold Release gives the molder of thermoset composite parts reduced cost through improved productivity and cosmetic consistency and lower rejection rates (less scrap parts). Will not transfer to parts, eliminating the need to clean prior to post-finishing operations such as painting or bonding. Benefits include reduced labor, greater part yield (more pulls between applications), better and consistent part quality, less mold build up and less down time for mold maintenance. Easy wipe on/leave on (or spray on/wipe off) application.

FORMULA FIVE® Semi-Permanent Mold Releases are industry proven and recommended for most molding processes including contact molding, hand lay up, spray up, filament winding, cast polymer (cultured marble/solid surface), rotational molding, closed molding (RTM, compression, injection), polymer concrete (polycrete/GRC), and with in-mold coatings.

The polymeric resins used in FORMULA FIVE® Semi-permanent Mold Sealer and Top Coats cure by hydrolysis (interaction with moisture in the atmosphere) and heat. Recommended storage is in original containers tightly sealed avoiding extreme temperatures. These products perform well at ambient temperatures above 70 ºF (21 ºC) but curing at higher temperatures such as      120 ºF (50 ºC) makes a more durable release coating. Multiple coats and longer curing times for release when preparing mold or before first part being made will also make a more durable coating. FORMULA FIVE® Semi-permanent Sealer and Top Coats must be applied to clean surfaces to perform properly and should be applied at temperatures 60 ºF (15 ºC) or above. Because of the rapid evaporation rate of the carrier solvents, spray application is recommended for mold surfaces 130 ºF (55 ºC) and above.

Formula Five® Mold Cleaner
FORMULA FIVE® Mold Cleaner dissolves mold surface build up caused by wax, silicone, and other contaminants such as grease and dirt allowing them to be wiped off without softening or dulling mold surface.  Used for general cleaning of most mold substrates including those composed of fiberglass, aluminum, steel and thermoset resins. Cleans without abrasives and can be used between molding cycles to remove uncured resin and other contaminates without stripping off underlying coat of semi-permanent mold release.

Formula Five® Mold stripper
FORMULA FIVE® Semi-permanent Mold Stripper is a more aggressive cleaner that dissolves mold surface build up caused by wax, silicone, and other contaminants such as grease and dirt allowing them to be wiped off without softening or dulling mold surface. Used for deep cleaning of most mold substrates when changing from wax or silicone release systems to semi-permanent systems. This stripper is also recommended for deep cleaning of highly detailed mold surfaces such as “non skid”. To dissolve more stubborn deposits, allow product to soak on the mold surface and use scrub brush before wiping off. Should be followed with a warm water wash and final cleaning with FORMULA FIVE® Mold Cleaner and dried.
